  • Decide on the Type of Boat

If you are a first-time charter, you should know that there are three main chartering to choose from. First is the bareboat charter but it is not suitable for newbies as it will only provide the boat for your trip and not the other materials. Second is a skippered charter, which can be an option, as these are smaller vessels having a seasoned captain.  However, the best is the last options which are a crewed charter. This will enable you to have an enjoyable experience and don’t have to worry about having fun as everything thing is taken care of by the crew.

  • Get the Right Footwear

You might be already aware that boats are slippery. Thus, shoes have to be the most crucial apparel that you carry on board. In order to prevent injury, you should opt for sandals covering your toes and shoes with rubber soles. Street shoes and flip flops are not a good idea. If you wear black-bottom shoes, you need to keep in mind that it can leave a mark on the floor of the boat. Thus, it is better to avoid these.

  • Carry a First-Aid Kit

Make sure that you have a first-aid kit on board. The basic things that it should contain are antibiotic, Band-Aids, pain reliever, and tapes. You have to carry some extras in your kit. It is necessary to be prepared for all types of misfortunes starting from sickness to broken bones. You can visit the outdoor adventure stores to get your kit. This way you will not have to build a kit from scratch. Get acquainted with what everyone requires on board to ascertain that you have everything you need.

  • Get a Compass, Map, and GPS

Surely, GPS is the best navigation tool that you can have. At present, these come in-built in all smartphones. However, it is better to keep a GPS and a compass on board. This will enable you to avoid any confusion when you experience technical difficulty.
